PE Career Path (How long until VP)

I have been with my less than conventional PE firm for almost four years, as an associate. I don't have any internal references or guidance on what climbing the career ladder looks like. How long did it take others to make senior associate or VP in private equity?

Typically 2-3 years until senior associate and then another 2-3 until VP, depends on the firm whether they require a MBA
