Literally open any forum and see people fighting about this. Nobody can see the future so need to read, get educated, and make your own projections about the future. Rates are high but nobody knows what the future will hold. They certainly won’t stay high forever, and every asset class ebbs and flows my friend. As PE has matured it has gotten more competitive but nobody knows what’s next. If they did, it wouldn’t be much of a debate.

Corporate PE is relatively oversaturated but other PE strategies like infra and real estate might see some serious momentum after all the carnage and repricing settles. Just my opinion, who knows what the future will hold

A lot of the economy has gone private, I feel like high rates and more disclosure requirements over time will slow things down big time. It’s just the industry feels a little saturated. But any time the whole economy grows so will PE alongside it. I think look at macro trends and predictions. PE does fine in down markets via distressed investments but for career growth prospects hopefully the whole world/economy grows and that will lend well for our careers.
