PE Hiring Needs

I know it's a bit early, but for those of you in a position to answer this question, what does PE hiring look like for current 1st year analysts (will be interviewing in summer for summer 2011 start)? I imagine, assuming things continue to improve, hiring will be up quite a bit from the past couple of cycles, but does any one know of specific places that will be hiring?

I'm mainly talking about MM PE firms, not looking to go megafund.

Do MM firms really start interviewing that early? I was under the impression that the mega-funds did most of their recruiting in the summer, followed by MM shops.

jimbrown, you're correct in general about hiring timing at MM funds. However, it is still way too early to tell what recruiting will be like this summer. Things could go either way still at this point.
