Ares, Oaktree, LGP are the bigger PE/AM firms out of LA.
Other include Spogli, Black Canyone, Brentwood, Aurora, TCW (not PE neccessarily and so on.
Apollo has a big office there.
I think that BStone has a REPE group there, and bain cap has a smaller office there.
Carlyle has a 3-person office in LA.
