PE in North Carolina?

I am a second year in IB at a BB, in an industry coverage group, and am looking for exit opps in North Carolina (for family reasons). Other than Carlyle's office in Charlotte, are there any PE / VC / HF shops around that area? Or better yet, are there any recruiting firms that focus on that area at all? I have been in contact with several recruiters but most seem to be focused in NY and SF.

Carousel Capital, Frontier Capital, Pamlico, CapitalSouth, Falfurrias Capital (Hugh McColl's PE firm), Summit Park, Colville Capital, BB&T Capital Partners, Plexus, Ridgemont Equity Partners. There are probably more, but those are the ones I have heard of/know people at.

This is extremely helpful, thank you. I'll do some research on these guys, hopefully I can find a few associates on linkedin to contact.
