PE -> Sales/Entrepreneurship?

Hi chimps,

I’ve enjoyed my time in PE and it has taught me a lot; however, it’s just hard to imagine being here for the next X amount of years. In the office 5 days a week & working weekends (not against working hard, just ultimately want some flexibility long term which I don’t see happening here). Ultimately, I realized that I’m just not as passionate about the role as I thought I would be.

Almost want to explore going on the sales side (literally anything, tech, insurance, RM at a corp/commercial bank, etc) - curious what roles my background in PE would fit. Or the entrepreneurial side where you eat what you kill. Figure now when I’m young is the time to take a risk and go for a home run since I don’t have a wife/kids that depend on me. I have always naturally been good with people, and don’t think that I would struggle with the relationship aspect of sales.

Curious if any of you have made this switch in your career?
