PE Sourcing Exits

I am currently a sophomore and have an offer for a SA 2026 sourcing position at a MM PE firm. What sort of exits would come of this? Is it better to take this position or try to recruit for consulting even if it means turning down this offer? Or should I just take the internship?

So it's definitely Battery because Audax doesn't do this (really should've just left out the names altogether and said MM firm if you wanted to keep it private). Great name, great firm, solid reputation in PE/outstanding in VC/growth. It's an internship so there is no "exit" - that's a term for FT roles. That said, it should be easy enough to leverage for an IB/PE/VC offer your junior year whichever route you decide to go. Having anything your sophomore summer is a positive and a name like theirs would be very favorably looked upon. It's not "as good" as your Apollo/EB sophomore internships of the world but still a great get. Would recommend taking it.

For soph year, a great place to be and very helpful to try to move to traditional PE/IB roles. I think much worse if for junior summer, sourcing/business development roles kind of mean you have to be better longer-term and commit to it. It's a great career, but I think coming out of college, ideally, you want to have some optionality as it's hard to know what you truly want to do as a 21-22-year-old.
