PE to VC to PE again?

As the title says. Joined a MM PE firm following my banking years (three years). The culture is awful here, tried lateral to some other PEs although the market is tough and I'm barely 1 year in. Closed one platform and 4 deals during my IB years.

Secured an offer to join a top VC fund (think Apax/Summit) - will I be able to make a come back once the market gets better? Obviously I'm taking a hit on my base, too...

Will it be possible?

you might not even want to come back. have friends that go into VC and actually like it. it's actually better WLB and upside greater. PE just outright brutal in some cultures and mind numbing.

curious as to whether you know about your firm's culture going into your PE stint or not
