PE Valuations exit opps
Hi all, I have an offer from a top valuations firm to be in their PE valuations team.
From what I gathered here, it appears as though valuations to PE is a tough path to successfully pull off. My story is a little bit different, I come from a front office MM IB background and buy-side advisory/PE and have worked on M&A with PE firms. I recently lost my job and was offered this role, and have been contemplating an MBA as well. I got this offer though, and thought it would be interesting to explore.
My thoughts are this role would be a good way to supplement my experience and pivot into front office PE, but on the other hand I am concerned that it may give the impression that it's a step backwards going from front office to valuations. The impression I'm getting from this site is valuations sucks and way worse than front office, but given my situation, what do you guys think I should do?
For a guy who aspires to be in front office PE/HF, would it make sense to join a top valuations firm, or am I better off looking around for something else?
