PE vs. Consulting WLB
I'm currently working in management consulting (MBB) and honestly not cool with the hours. I'm typically going ~65 a week, with weekend work maybe 1-2 times per month. This might not be a big deal to WSO, but I'm dealing with a couple of health issues that make it really tough.
I'm going through interviews for MM/UMM PE right now, and don't know what to expect in terms of hours. Could WLB be better? I've read super varied things online about MM PE hours.
All of this may seem whiny. I'm grateful to have the position of some choice here. Let me know any thoughts.

There is little chance of it being materially better and a decent chance of it being worse, especially during live deal periods (essentially non-stop until the deal closes or dies)

Like a tech strategy role?
As others have said, it’s varies a lot, but at most UMM shops, probably worse. At all shops, significantly worse peak hours on live deals.

The hours and pressure will be worse. You might want to think about other career options, it is not worth putting your health at risk.
