PE/Credit Fund recruiting for MM analyst

Hello all,

Starting as a FT analyst at an upper-MM bank this summer. I come from a non-target school as well, but from what I have seen this shouldn't negatively impact me a ton for future recruiting. I am interested in working in PE or Credit after my IB stint (like everyone) and I am curious what the timeline is like for recruiting for non BB/EB analysts. I know HH will start reaching out to analyst at top shops as early as October, but is this the same for MM analysts? Will I have to be far more proactive in reaching out to HH? If so, is it smart to follow the on-cycle push when reaching out, or wait until "off-cycle" recruiting may be going on for certain shops so I maybe get a better look from HH?

Also, do PE shops or credit funds of other sorts tend to recruit for their credit arms during the same timeline? I have seen HFs tend to follow a less structured timeline than PE, but do PE shops recruit for their PE and Credit arms at the same time?

thanks in advance.
