I don't work at PIF but I'm currently based in Riyadh so I interact quite a bit with PIF and have friends there.

From what I have seen and heard there is massive incompetence across all levels due to efforts to include Saudis in the workforce. You'll be in a team of 80% Saudis, of whom all but maybe 1 or 2 outliers will have no understanding of finance and are incapable of producing work to an acceptable standard (including seniors), leaving the expats to pick up the slack. Even at VP level you'll be doing absolutely everything from basic grunt work to building the model to PPT, with zero junior support. Then you'll watch the rest of your team who are doing absolutely nothing get promoted ahead of you and receive preferential treatment in reviews.

This is not too dissimilar from other SWFs in the region but it is definitely more extreme than in the UAE.

If you want to go somewhere for a few years to work in a completely new environment culturally whilst earning earn good cash comp thats tax free (for non amercians) then its a decent proposition. However be warned that the learning will not be on par with opportunities in the US / Europe and there will be a great deal of frustration.
