Pivot from quant to more traditional investment?

Just wondering what are my chances and if anyone had similar experiences/ tips to share.

I’m currently 3 years into current job, just starting my second year as an associate, doing portfolio construction in a top 3 private equity company. Working on various area (Buyouts, impact, core fund as well as working on institutional client’s portfolio).

Very familiar with private assets, especially on equity from a top down perspective. Including fund Cashflow, valuation etc. Willing to and able to learn the excel LBO model (I have done them during undergrad but a bit rusty now)

I kinda want to move to more traditional investment team (as an associate), willing to do all the prep before the interview process. Please let me know if there are any advices. Thank!
