in the process of looking at PE/buyside opps i came across private debt funds that invest majority in debt products (senior/sub/some mezz and equity). what are some views on the type of experience you get at these places and whether being there pigeon holes you into debt specific roles (ie no chance of getting into PE later in career). it's basically lev fin but on the buyside it seems. any views?
