Private Debt to Public Equities

Hello, I'm an Investment Associate in a leading Private Debt Fund headquartered in London and focused on junior debt. We try to have DD process that is similar to what Private Equity funds do (not the same of course, but much much more in depth than what a CLO does). I love the people I work with and I think they are very smart but not so much the job (as the market has enough fools to force ridiculous terms down lenders' throats and unfortunately we have to invest money in every environment).

I am looking for: - feedback about the hedge fund industry and how easy it is to transition from a role in a private markets to public markets - relevant litterature to improve and sharpen my investment acumen - names of hedge funds with some sort of a credit / defensive equities focus
