Private Equity | Head Hunters | Parabolic

Hey guys,

I am a rising senior studying Economics. I am interested in private equity but do not have prior banking experience. I am an operations analyst at an upper mid-market private equity firm. I recently came across Parabolic, a head-hunting agency, on Handshake. As soon as they saw my resume, they scheduled a call with me and offered me their services. They said they work with many companies by helping their staffing. They said they would help me with interview prep, and pass my resume around to help me get an offer at a PE firm. In return, they want 10% of my first-year base comp. Does anyone have experience working with head hunters like Parabolic? Or any advice in general? Thanks!

I used Parabolic to move from BB ER to a $2.5bn single manager HF. It took about 3 months and several rounds of interviews at like 10 places but they were getting me phone screens and first rounds. I didn't really need help with behaviorals or technicals but having a coach live while I was doing my case study was super helpful. I think it was worth it for me.You can apply to jobs your self and learn most of the technical guides and behaviorals for free but it's nice to have them all in one place. I probably could have done the vase study on my own as well but it was reassuring to have someone with more experience there with me as a back up. Can't say enough good things about the coaches, I will say that the sales people are kind of pushy though which was a turn off.
