private equity internships
I may have the oppurtunity of interning at a small private equity internship shop. It seems like the position will not involve alot of direct finance work. Do you guys think a position like this is still worth it? I attend like a 50-60 ranked school so not really a target
What year are you? How big is the fund? What's your goal out of undergrad? What's the job description if it's not finance-heavy (sourcing, diligence, PortCo monitoring, etc.)?
If this is for a freshman or sophomore internship, definitely go for it. Even if you're not doing a full-blown LBO, interning in PE is a great way to learn about the buy-side and generally understand companies better through diligence work.
