Private Fund at an Asset Management Firm

Hi :)

I had a first round interview recently with a specialist asset manager but I am confused as to how the fund works, it is super unclear on the website so I'm hoping some of you can help me out. It is a fund that pools capital and invests into real assets very actively. What does this actually mean/entail?- would my responsibilites be comparable to a Private Equity analyst? Can I expect any modelling to come my way?

I want to aim for a career in Private Equity in the future but this (an asset management firm) is the closest I have gotten to a job offer so far. Can anyone explain if this will help me get to PE in the future or be a barrier?

Any information on this is greatly appreciated!

Merry Christmas :)
