Private investment strategies that are more friendly to people from diverse backgrounds?

Currently at a fund where most people on the top are of the same mold (upbringing, class, background, interest), and best opportunities/stretch assignments are given to junior ranks who are similar. Part of it seems to be human nature to like those who are similar, part of it seems to be because the fund sources from CEOs who are mostly in the same mold.

This makes me wonder if there are private investing strategies where people who are from a more different personal background (not tall white guys playing squash) may face less headwind? Assuming IBD background and the right set of technical skills of course.

Curious on your perspectives. Kind of jaded TBH.
