GE / LMM PE Comp in Tier 2 City
Hey all, I'm trying to get a sense of what the market comp is for GE / LMM PE roles at this time. Joined a GE / LMM PE shop ($150M AUM, 5-10 person team) based in the Mid-Atlantic out of undergrad from a super non-target in 2024 (no relevant internship experience either) & been here since as an Analyst. Firm started out as an independent sponsor before COVID also doing co-invest & sub-advisory work, and raised Fund I about 4 years ago. Just got bumped up to Associate but feels more like AN3 / AS0 given base + benefits bump was light ($110k -> $115k) & bonus structure remained the same ($5k fixed per deal -> current pace is 2-3 deals a year). Also got awarded an equity grant in a holdco we founded with potential for more in a few more entities we'll be involved in, but all vests over multi-years. Current workflow is deal execution + portco work + AI dev work (built an internal AI tool with firm-specific knowledge & context in downtime) + have an FP&A analyst training under me. Fund I is fully deployed & expecting a couple major liquidity events this year so should be raising Fund II sometime next year. Had a 2Y performance review with MP recently who asked for retention clarity to be on the fundraise team for Fund II & offered carry participation (how much TBD). People are really great to work with (MP has personally shown immense support through ongoing personal struggles), and culture is also good (6 days in office but pretty laidback, hours vary but avg probably 10hrs / day, Sundays mostly off, and unlimited PTO & health days - yes I've actually used them quite a bit). Really enjoy working with my team & would prefer to stay, so been wondering what my ask should be to retain, and if not if I should consider lateraling in late 2027 / early 2028. Any & all advice would be appreciated - thanks in advance!
