PSA: PE is much more interesting than banking although it is no better than banking

  1. Work is very similar, albeit much more interesting and in depth in PE if you like learning about businesses (which I do)

  2. People are generally same type who say vacation is just working from another location and a good worker is a worker willing to work until 2am

  3. Actually worse from the standpoint that in PE there is limited middle and junior staff meaning as an associate, you are expected to be the analyst, associate and sometimes VP on a deal

  4. Actually worse in PE that the median salary of a PE professional is probably somewhat to significantly less than IBD depending on where you are (specially in the LMM/MM)
