I always laugh at these types of comments. The vast majority of PE firms are sweaty so wouldn’t use that as a real con at the firm level (could use it at the career track level).

Any insight on difference in calibre between PE and Opportunistic Credit?

One of the partners in opportunistic credit left recently after few bad investments (Latecoere amongst others). I think the fund is still doing OK but not great returns either - somewhere high single digits from what I’ve heard.

Main founder is ex-KKR and known for being the type of guy that's online even at 1am as a GP. Expect to work A LOT. Sweaty by PE standards but not particularly sharp elbowed.
