Should I mark distributions as negative or positive in this formula?
If an LP capital accounts statement has a distribution in the negative and I am applying it to the following formula, would I also write it as a negative or as a postive? return = (Ending of quarter capital + Q1 distributions) - (Beginning of quarter capital + Q1 contributions)/Beginning of quarter capital
If the LP is receiving a return of capital (the distribution) from a GP it will be positive for the LP.
