Ski outing or ski networking for mid-career finance professionals?

Obviously a lot of skiers in finance and related industries. Is there a conference or outing for early or mid-career folks in PE or elsewhere in finance? Preferably out west.

I know some law firms and other advisors/vendors sponsor ski outings. I suppose there's Davos if you're a big dog. I just ski a lot and figured there might be something interesting out there along these lines.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, ski outings and networking events are indeed popular among finance professionals, especially in PE and related industries. While there isn't a specific mention of a mid-career finance-focused ski conference in the knowledge base, there are some relevant insights:

  1. MBA Ski Clubs and Events: Many MBA programs, such as Columbia's "SnowSports" Club, organize ski trips that attract finance professionals, including those in PE and hedge funds. These events often have a mix of networking and leisure, making them a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals.

  2. Professional Development Events: Some firms or industry groups host ski outings as part of their networking or team-building efforts. While these are often organized by law firms or advisors, they can include finance professionals as well.

  3. Davos and High-Level Events: As you mentioned, Davos is a prime example of a high-profile event where skiing and networking intersect, though it caters to senior professionals and global leaders.

If you're looking for something more tailored to mid-career professionals, you might consider reaching out to industry-specific groups or alumni networks to see if they organize ski trips or similar events. Alternatively, you could propose organizing one within your firm or professional circle—it could be a unique way to build connections while enjoying the slopes.
