Slacks or Chinos for Summer Analyst?

Interning at a hedge fund this summer and PE next. Looking to upgrade my pant game, but unsure if I should get dress slacks (separate from the 2 suits I own) or chinos. How many pairs would suffice, in what combination?

In my opinion you have to have diversity so you can dress up or down slightly, so I opts for slacks, chinos, and golf pants (lulu commission). I wear a jacket with all of those, and a vest with only the last two depending on the day. Ultimately follow the trend set at your firm (and be slightly overdressed rather than underdressed) as each place is different

Chinooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos
