Something strange is happening in India, Private Equity firms like KKR, Kedaara, Apollo, etc are pouring billions of dollars in Indian schools
Schools in India and in any country in the world are by law, required to be a non-profits organisation. In India, Private schools must be registered as a trust, society, or Section 8 company
No dividends, no profit payouts!
But PE firms are profit-driven by design. So what could be the possible reason why they are investing in schools? 🤔
Gaja has been investing in private education for kids in India for years, that was one of their focus sectors and last I heard they were doing well.
