Sophomore Summer Large PE/Buyside programs?

I go to a target. Sophomores at my school intern literally everywhere even up to MF PE, but as a freshman, I didn't get that many emails about these apps through my school's clubs/career-center. I believe this is because there are sophomore-specific mailing lists with the career center people or something else, but point stands. Didn't get to talk to that many upperclassmen due to online school. So anyways, I'm not sure what UMM/MF PE/GE/Credit/similar firms have buyside programs and would apprecriate people telling me here what firms have formal programs that take sophomores. Many of the lists on here are outdated so yeah.

Talk to career services, specifically the main guy / gal that’s the financial services career counselor. Those folks often have many connections & the inside scoop.

That's so weird. Like I've never talked to them before. Do I just randomly email them or smth? What do I even say. There's a team of like 5 people who're focused on high finance and financial services so I know who to talk to but not sure what to say.

Depends on the school. For my school, it was common for sophomores & juniors to talk with that person. Email works fine, just be polite & have your stuff together so that they view you strongly. You will be fine!
