Spectrum Equity vs JMI Equity?
Hello! I'm currently recruiting for full-time analyst positions in growth equity. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the spread of how much sourcing/deal execution/port co work an analyst would be involved. In addition, any details about exit opps, culture, work-life balance, comp, overall reputation, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks!
PM me - incredibly familiar with both.
just PMed. Thanks!
Which offices? Both of them have fairly different cultures depending on if you're west coast or east coast
As far as reputation / exit opps, they're two of the best-regarded funds in growth. Have slightly different focus areas as I'm sure you're learning, but couldn't go wrong with either.
.
Try and flip to Spectrum SF and/or JMI East Coast. Culturally the ones you're interviewing at are supposed to be way more intense
Worked with JMI & Spectrum on a process recently. Bags under eyes is an understatement. But that’s just what you get. Both pleasant and smart teams.
Sorry that’s all I can add.
So both of these teams look like they grind long hours?
Very much so.
a good chunk of Spectrum's mid senior levels are based in SF i though their culture would be "better"
