Starting career at a Non-MF role

Just wanted to gather some thoughts on starting your career at a Non-MF role? Currently based in APAC (HK/SG).

What are some of the advantages and disadvantages other than the lack of training (and I guess network within your analyst class). Would starting off at a bank be better? Love to hear your thoughts!
