starting to recruit for PE as an incoming IB analyst

If I'm an incoming first year at a bank whose culture is hush hush about PE recruiting such as GS and Evercore, is it worth it to sign up for programs that will prepare me for PE recruiting/network with PE firms before I start? Just worried about getting caught and facing repercussions at work for it. Thanks.

What the fuck? Since when is Evercore hush hush about recruiting? As a selling point during group placement, the groups literally list all of the PE/HF exits they've had for analysts. The bank also sends out an email when on-cycle kicks off that asks that seniors take it easy on Analysts that are going through recruiting so that they can focus on successfully recruiting.

Agreed. During an hour and a half info session at my school, the Evercore MD spent nearly half of the time talking about this most recent analysts class’s PE exits and why he thinks EVR is superior in terms of exit opps. I’ve literally never seen another info session where they’ve had a dedicated section about buyside recruiting.
