Structured Finance / Commercial Banking to BDC / Private Credit

Folks,

I've seen fragments of discussions (mostly in the comments of various threads) around people moving from commercial banking into private credit funds / BDCs. Would anyone who has been able to make this transition be able to share more about your background on:

  1. Type of bank / team function
  2. Years of experience before moving into BDC / private credit
  3. Recruitment experience

Trying to understand if similarly to PE, there are "target banks / teams" for BDCs / private credit recruitment and how best to position for recruitment. Separately, I've noticed some banks have various structured financing groups that are non-lev fin, e.g. Credit Suisse has an APAC financing group, UBS has a private markets financing group - does anyone know what day-to-day is like in these groups? do they offer exit opportunities to BDC / private credit as well?
