Struggling to come up with good questions to ask interviewer

Does anybody have any intelligent questions to ask in PE / growth equity interviews? I feel like this is really letting me down, especially in calls with the partners.

I know there's a ton of threads on this, but I'm just struggling to find anything useful.

If I ask "tell me about your investment strategy?" then I look like an absolute fool who hasn't done their research and / or did not listen to my interviewer's responses in previous rounds.

If I ask something more personal (which I like to do) like "What led you to X firm," that only works if they didn't do a comprehensive intro in the beginning (which they often do). If I ask "can you tell me about your favorite deal," then I just look like a total kiss-ass
