Does anyone know of any shops still recruiting? I've met with all the recruiters and I thought the meetings went well, but I've only had one interview. Yes I know it's off cycle (as subject indicates im looking for summer 2016), but I would have figured I would have had some interviews by now. It just doesn't seem like there's much in NYC except for completely unknown PE shops, which I don't really think are that appealing for a variety of reasons.
Any advice on what to do?
Yes, people are still recruiting. It is a lot of MM and Lower MM, though I have gotten blasts for some larger funds. I talked to a Principal at a MF who mentioned that they added onto their 2016 class at the tail end of last year. I remember last year larger funds hit the market closer to ~May - July as their incoming 2015 classes were about to hit the door.
bump... i've barely heard anything yet... not sure if that's recruiters just ignoring me (a very strong possibility) or if hiring is just dead right now (also a likely reason).
