The Chernin Group - Insights
I know they used to(?) operate as a holding company focused on media, tech and movie production before raising a 700M fund. Any insights about the team, culture, investment style etc. would be helpful

Interview process was a little wack.
Care to elaborate?
Posted below; be expected to do a lot of work without really knowing what the role entails and any sort of networking attempt is severely shot down.
Interviewed with them. Agree. Was very odd. Also very sourcing heavy role is what I was told
Clarifying that interview process was odd. Not the people
Yup; don't know what cycle you were on, but for my cycle, you were given a prompt to write about four very niche industries (road-trip focused companies for millennials, (wtf??) or body-engineering) and essentially write an market mapping/investment thesis for them. Felt like they were just sourcing company ideas from prospective applicants. Was a lot of work for not even a first round.
Oh yeah. 100% agreed. Was very similar my cycle. A lot of very odd work for a first round before even knowing about the role. Was not a fan of that
I have some familiarity with the folks at TCG and they seem to love their lives. They are very intellectually curious, looking at niche investment verticals that others aren’t even talking about.
