THL / Thomas H Lee
Have seen some commentary on this firm, but would love to know more given the conflicting datapoints on this site. Have heard that some folks on-cycled recently so wanted to hear general impression of the company - especially as they used to be MF and seem to be solidly in UMM now and growing.
Recent post here that might be helpful: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/private-equity/thoughts-on-thl

Are they hiring right now?
To my knowledge, they went on-cycle for 2024 and had CPI recently fill out some of their remaining 2023 spots. Not sure if they are still looking for 2023, but imagine they may have spots left for 2024.
Any idea on comp?

Why am I always reminded of the confederate flag when I hear THL?
Robert E. Lee...Thomas H. Lee...sounds like they'd be relatives
60 and 80 hours is very different, anyone know where they stand generally?
It's PE
what does that mean. know a lot of funds in 60-70 range and some 90+. PE is way more less standard than IB in terms of hours
What is their interview process like?
Has anyone heard back after their networking event last week?
Anyone know how culture varies across groups? Any positive/negative datapoints?
won't create a new thread but shocking at what happened......
Agreed - it will take some time for people to hear about it. While I can’t comment on what compelled him, my thoughts are with his family, friends, and coworkers. For all his ups and downs over the last 50 years in PE, Rest In Peace to a legend of the industry.
I’m calling BS on the articles. He hasn’t worked at THL in like 20 years. He was at Lee Equity. Articles say it happened at THL offices
THL Capital different from THL Partners…? Think the former is either fam office or related to Lee Equity versus the latter which is the namesake PE firm that most know for the splashy deals of the 90s.
