IR is already minimally covered in general (looking at UMM, maybe MF), let alone for 1-2 years post-grad. Assume a low interest in going into IB / front office banker in PE. What would my day-to-day look like as an analyst? And what are my exit options-- is it really just lateral to another IR role? Shedding light on bonuses in this role would be helpful as well.

IR gets a lot of undeserved shit on here - this forum focuses on money and prestige, and it's basically DEALS or the highway, so take what you read on here with a huge grain of salt. You'll take a pay cut in IR but you'll also work half the hours and the work is more interesting than your typical 9-5 FP&A/corp fin type role. Most in IR come from banking, rare to start as a junior. IR is the exit op (if you find the right seat it's usually low hours, interesting work, get to work very close to PE, decent enough pay) so most do not leave.
