Thoughts on Glentra (London)
Energy PE fund set up a couple of years ago by two former CIP partners. Made 4 investments across US/Europe, headquartered in Copenhagen. Final close later this year expected at €750m.
Looking for info on culture and pay.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, there isn't specific information about Glentra or its culture and pay in the provided knowledge base. However, here are some general insights that might help:
Culture: Energy-focused PE funds often have a mix of intense work environments, especially during deal closings, but can vary significantly depending on the leadership and team dynamics. Given that Glentra was set up by former CIP partners, it might carry a professional and disciplined culture, potentially influenced by their previous firm's practices.
Pay: For energy PE funds, compensation is generally competitive. For example, top Texas-based energy PE funds offer Year 1 associates between $225k-$275k all-in. European funds might have slightly different structures, but the pay is typically aligned with industry standards, especially for funds managing significant capital like Glentra's expected €750m.
If you're considering joining, it might be worth reaching out to current or former employees for direct insights into the firm's culture and pay specifics.

Bump
I suspect you got approached by Nick who manages the 'search' for the role. Looks like he just blasted the entire VP market in London.
Not many information on the culture but I have been told the comp is £135k-145k with up to 65%-75% bonus. No carried interest allocation in the $750m fund but you should get a 'subtantial' allocation for the next fund, assuming they raise one.
Looking at what those guys are doing, it's very much PE, border VC to a certain extent given the tech/dev risk they take so struggling to see why they position this as an infra/energy fund but hey, they raised $750m so why not. They are planning to open an office in the US in the very near term.
Is that for a VP level role?
That's right
Do you have any sense on Associate comp?
