Too late for PE recruiting, stay a third year?

Started as a first year analyst in July, had about a month training, worked on quite a few pitches/market updates, only worked on one live deal. Started talking to headhunters and attended a few breakfasts. Don't feel prepared for PE recruiting. Worth doing a third year as an analyst for the chance to recruit again, or has the ship sailed and just pursue corp dev, etc.
