Top down vs bottoms up investment culture

Curious how others feel but I recently moved firms.

At my prior firm, associates had a pretty strong voice on deals and somewhat drove investment decisions (bottoms up culture). At my current firm, seniors or mid levels will decide a deal is good and then ask juniors to help process it, although we still have a voice it’s less strong (top down culture).

Curious where on the spectrum your firm falls and what the norm is.
