Trying to recruit out of Asia into the US - any advice ?

Hope y’all are doing well. First post here but for context I’m an Analyst1 doing real assets investments at a UMM PE seat in Asia (SG/HK). Have been thinking about making the move to North America (Infra PE, open to most major cities at the moment) and was wondering if headhunters will even take a look at my CV (given I’m from overseas)?
Or has anyone made a similar move and can walk me through the experience. (But it seems like moving internally or even moving from NA to Asia is more common rather than vice versa)

Very very hard. I only know one guy that did it, and he had to get an MBA in the US.
Long shot if you have a US passport / green card. If not, the chances are effectively 0. There are no work permit visas for such a move (H1B is a crapshoot for the employer with significantly costly outlays in terms of time and effort, L1 is for an internal transfer at a multinational).

Networking: This is crucial. You'll need to do a lot of leg work, setting up coffees, and making connections. If you're in the US for trips, try to set up meetings in advance.

Stay on top of recruiting: Keep an eye on the recruiting timing and processes. You'll need to be proactive and take the initiative to find your way in.
Consider local offices: As a plan B, you could consider recruiting for local BB offices while making connections to US offices. This is more of a long-term strategy - get in the door at local offices, and then transfer. This will depend on the BB’s mobility program and likely ad hoc needs.
Headhunters: They can be a valuable resource, but keep in mind that their interest in you will be proportional to the fee they can earn from your placement. If you're more junior, they might be less interested. However, your experience in real assets investments at a UMM PE seat in Asia could make you an attractive candidate.

Yea if you dont have a GC or US passport u would need an MBA for a shot at US office (unless ur firm is willing to relocate u to US through L1?)
If you do not have US citizenship/ GC, you have better odds of success pursuing an L1 route than a H1 route.
