Two Internships Down, PE Dreams Ahead – What’s My Next Move?

Hi WSO,

I just completed two internships in M&A Valuations and (a brief stint) in Equity Research/Sales and just recently completed my degree. I have no graduate roles or internships lined up so I'm in a weird period. Given my long-term goals are PE/VC or anything with modelling, what are my options from here? My grades are ok but not good enough to secure a BB gig.

In my mind, I have 3 options:

1. Do another internship. Currently looking at Equity Research at a Wealth Management firm but the company seems to churn employees heavily and management is toxic. I've been offered an interview but not too sure how I feel about the culture (I know people who have worked there).

2. Network and try to find work in a business valuation firm or ideally corporate advisory.

3. Just do whatever and focus on recruiting next year when grad applications reopen and start July-August 2025.

I prefer the most efficient route but that might be too optimistic haha. My question is what is the best course of action from here and is there perhaps something I haven't considered? Would it be possible to lateral from these CPA valuation firms into a boutique IB/PE? Any input is appreciated.
