Typical negotiation timeframe with PE firms for a director role
In negotiation with a PE firm ($1B AUM). They quoted a VP level average comps for a director role. I countered that it was below what at market rates are (based on available reports publicly). They said it would be hard for them to match it. Is it typical for PE firms to try to low ball you. Plus is it typical for this negotiation to go longer? This is for a role one level below MD/Partner
