Hello, I was wondering how the experience, exit opps, and chances at business school compare coming from a top UMM pe firm vs a MF pe firm?Thx

Career Resources
It's not all that different. I worked pretty long hours - even more than some buddies at MFs, as it's so deal dependent. If you go back to back committees, it's going to be painful no matter what. You might also have a better experience at UMM if the teams are leaner. There are more 5-person deal teams at MFs, but again this is case by case.
Overall, my anecdotal evidence is that deal experience is approximately equivalent, compensation is in-line with MFs (ex. H&F + Apollo) if not higher, exit-opps might be less guaranteed but doable (I'm off to HBS for example, but in my MBA class there are X number every year from H&F and I'm the only one from my firm)
Do you plan on going back to pe or using the mba to switch careers?
Figuring it out. Many people who did the same route haven't really lived their lives, so going to take the time to reflect.
Post MBA is when your career really begins vs. the training pre-MBA. I want to be decisive and all-in with that decision.
Looking back, are you happy you did UMM instead of MF, or would you go to a megafund if you had the chance?
