Undergrad PE Analyst Exit to Other PE Firms/MBA?
I've read a lot about the pros and cons of beginning your career in PE straight from undergrad on WSO (no IB/consulting experience), but is there anyone who can share their experiences exiting from one after a few years?
Particularly interested in those who jumped to another (larger) PE, or those who went to a top MBA.
I'm mainly curious on how the firms/schools viewed your undergrad PE analyst experiences.
More interested in people from non-megafunds.
Any undergrad PE analysts out there? Haha.
bump
Just to be clear, you are looking for someone who started working for a mid-market fund right after undergrad and then jumped ship to an upper mid-market or megafund?
Yep. Exits not just to other PEs but anywhere.
Just wanted to see what these PE starters ended up, how they were viewed when looking recruiting, etc. Any info really.

I am a PE grad analyst. Some people from my firm went into IBD as 3rd analysts and then made Associate. People from other funds got into other funds or Consulting or went for an MBA.
Thanks for this. Could you talk about how other firms viewed the grad PE analyst experience if you have any insight? Have you looked to exit to other places?
Also, is your PE roughly a MM?
I am at a MF. I think the grad PE experience is looked well upon, it is not the most common route as grad programs in PE are relatively new but I do not think you are at a disadvantage. I still have not looked into exits,
