US Undergraduate Recruiting for UK Off-Cycle Seeking Advice

Hi Monkeys! I am a final-year undergraduate student in the US seeking advice/information on the UK off-cycle internship recruitment process, specifically to understand the depth of technical prep and networking required, resume tips, and the application timeline (I am looking for a Fall 2026 position).

I am a British citizen so sponsorship is not required, and I bring strong prior internship experience (summer in EB IB and a major L/S HF, both NYC). Thank you so much in advance!

I don't have much to say on this but a few pointers:

  • The OC candidates I've seen are very highly talented so you'll need a solid background as you'll be hitting the desk from day 1 instead of a summer analyst who takes some time.
  • Most banks don't do OCs, of which the only main ones that come to mind are Jefferies, MS, UBS, Rothschild, Houlihan Lokey and (more recently) Bank of America.
  • Networking isn't a thing as much: apply and hope for the best.
  • Don't waffle your resume and (I'd say) make it clear from your experience which group(s) suit you best if the program allows you to pick a desk.
