Using HH for a position that you have already applied for

Did anyone have experience with HH that reach out to you for a position that you have already applied for? To provide context, I applied for a role at a MF through their own career site, and few weeks later a HH reach out to me for the same role. What would you do in that case, do you tell the HH that you have already applied for the position?

The reason that isn’t true is that you have to attract talent.

Some firms use HH, others pay internal recruiting. Those that use both know what they are getting themselves into.

Maybe this happens in some roles or firms, but when trying to recruit top talent, you don’t shortchange because of using a recruiter (as I said if you don’t have a recruiter you pay your internal group, so there is a cost regardless).

Some firms only recruit senior positions through HH, but others will use their own team.

I personally haven’t found a lot of value from HHs, even at the senior roles I’ve applied to. There are a few that are great, and I mean really great and can connect you to the right people, but I’ve seen 1) try to get info (comp, performance at HF etc) 2) try to push you to positions you are overqualified for 3) try to convince you on “upside” when convincing you to take a position of less pay or 4) shopping your resume around.
