Vista ccat

Is a 39-42/50 enough? I got to like question 45 but answered pretty much every question with high accuracy maybe missing 2 q but for the most part being super accurate (took off a couple extra just for leeway).

I saw Vista heavily prioritizes this score and I could have done a bit better but not sure if i make the mark (stats + resume from a target+ referral so honestly just worried about the scores)

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Vista Equity Partners' CCAT (Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test) is a critical part of their recruitment process. The general consensus is that a score of 40-42 out of 50 is typically the cutoff for advancing in their process, though this can vary slightly by year.

Given that you reached question 45 and maintained high accuracy (missing only 2-3 questions), your performance likely aligns with or exceeds the required threshold. The CCAT is designed to test speed and accuracy, so reaching that far into the test with minimal errors is a strong indicator of success.

Since you also have a strong resume, target school background, and a referral, your overall profile is competitive. If you're still concerned, you might want to confirm with your recruiter or contact at Vista, but your described performance seems solid for their standards.

I recently took the CCAT for a different process. For those uninitiated, it is a condensed cognitive test measuring your ability across 3 types of questions: math, english, and spatial intelligence (e.g., finding patterns in rotating shapes). The difficulty is you have to answer 50 questions in 15 minutes (~18 seconds per question).

42 is a good score; you can find the percentiles by score online which will give you the best idea of how good each score is.

I found the test to be very easy to prep for. You can find a ton of timed practice exams online for free, plus some prep courses which give you additional practice tests. My score went up pretty dramatically from Test #1 -> Test #8 so definitely worth it to put the work in.
