What is a potential minority investment?
Hi folks,
I was talking to a guy from a PE earlier last week, and he mentioned something about a potential minority investment. I was too shy to ask about what that really means and tried to Google it but with no returns. So my question is, what is a minority investment, how does it work, and how do you use a model to analyze it?
You are not the majority owner - you own less than 50% or do not have the controlling stake in the company.
Like the other poster said, it just means you don't own the majority of the cap table.
Keep in mind minority DNE non-control.
Growth equity and early stage VC investing are good examples of minority investment strategies.
You couldn't use google and find anything on minority investment? You may want to give that another shot.
