What is market comp at the VP level for MF / UMM these days?

Got a VP offer that I wanted to run by folks here to get their take give recent comp increases across the board in both PE and IBD

Base + Bonus: $575k

Carry: $4MM

Overall seems like a pretty strong offer but wanted to collect other datapoints just as a sense check. Thanks all.

All I'm gonna say is there are sr associates at my firm making $650…principals at 700+ cash. No idea on carry piece.

But fruit for thought on carry - 13bn fund @ 2x and 20% and 50bps is $13mm…

50bps isn't much

Ok so snr assoc at 650 but principal at 700+? So no vp? So that’s Apollo or bx. Both scale snr assoc comp meaningfully to principal. So what’s your point exactly? Also lol at your kindergarten math. Nobody is paying a vp 10m+ carry regardless of fund size. The market dictates comp not back of the envelope math

What surprised me is Associates will make base $150k at an Apollo or BX but Principals base will only go to $175k at those shops, a lot of it is in the bonus; carry separate ofc.
