What to expect from next round of PE interview?

Interviewing with an MM PE Fund - Had an initial conversation, and then was given a case study. I felt confident about the case study, and did in fact move on to the next round, where I will be speaking with two members of the team. Does anyone have experience with this? What should I expect as far as questions go (my background, deals I've done, a walk through of my thinking on case study)? Any sort of insight would be helpful

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you can expect in the next round of your PE interview:

  1. Your Background: Be prepared to discuss your educational background, previous work experience, and why you're interested in PE. They might ask about your GPA, your performance in your class, and your reasons for wanting to work in PE.

  2. Deals You've Done: If you have experience with deals, be ready to discuss them in detail. They might ask about your role, the deal structure, and the outcome.

  3. Case Study Walkthrough: You might be asked to walk through your thought process for the case study you were given. Be ready to explain your approach, why you made the decisions you did, and what you would do differently if given another chance.

  4. Behavioral Questions: Expect some behavioral questions as well. These are designed to assess your fit with the team and the company culture.

  5. Technical Questions: While the emphasis on technical prowess is low relative to IB interviews, you should still be prepared for some technical questions.

Remember, these interviews are not meant to be formulaic. Show your personality, take some risks, and make sure to follow up consistently with the people you meet during the recruiting process. Good luck!
